I keep seeing MAGAs saying all these people fired will be getting severance packages, is that true? Nothing can justify being treated this way or replace losing your life’s work or dream job etc.. but I want to be able to dispute this claim if false. - ThreadSky

That is what I thought! TY couldn’t find anything either way but that is what I’m hearing often as the response…well at least they get a generous severance, I would never get that at my job etc etc

No. Severe packages are only given to those affected by a RIF -officially being laid off.

The letters said that it was a RIF, but that's not how it works. The letter goes on to say they were dismissed for performance reasons. So it can't be both.

@mamacrawford.bsky.social the only thing close to a severance would be the deferred resignation. If a fed didn’t sign up, they won’t get an actual severance. Most likely participate in a class action lawsuit.

Our institute worked for the first round of people to try to get 1 months pay but that’s it. They’re doing all they can
