I'm old enough to remember when that side of the argument inisisted that an advisory vote was sacrosanct and asking the people to vote again so soon would be "anti democaratic"!

People are going to be so disappointed when they realise this “debate” means a committee room, a handful of MPs, and 10 minutes of polite discussion before it gets shelved. A petition isn’t a shortcut to a general election - just an easy way to work up a froth for headlines.
