I miss game magazines not in the sense they don't exist, but in that they aren't needed anymore. From writing to publication to distribution to me going to a news agent to buy the latest issue, the news isn't just old, it's out of date. I miss NEEDING magazines.

I like Edge for the quality of the writing: it is genuinely one of the best written and most intelligent magazines available. What it doesn’t have in up-to-date news it has in insight and analysis, and that is available from other source, but I also like a physical magazine to read

I have a TON of old gaming and Amiga and 3D World magazines. I've wanted to get rid of most of them to clear up room, but every time I do I get caught up in hours and hours of flipping through them and reminiscing.

That's amazing news!

Games magazines are a great snapshot of the industry at a point in time. The reviews, features about upcoming technology and adverts (especially for all the small retailers) paint a vivid picture of what was happening at any given time.

It brought back so many memories, so many childhood hours spent poring over the pages, absorbing as much information as I could, imaging what all these games were like that I could never possibly afford.

I lament the loss of the magazine industry - the shelves seem so empty nowadays.

I feel the same about old comic magazines especially wizard and toyfare not to mention the numerous other magazines that were out there at the time
