i love how the longer i post from this account the deeper my appreciation for the sonic franchise becomes
despite its faults it is inherently based

I'm old. I was a kid when Sonic first came out.
It was also the first game, the first world, to change my life.
It helped me feel new things, and understand justice for the first time. Realize what I needed. What I wanted.
It helped me understand what love is.
I didn't understand friendship because all I knew was abuse.
I was alone.
But the Sonic world saved me from so much of that.
But I can say with certainty that if Sonic wasn't in my life, I would not be alive right now.
Sonic kept me alive when nothing else did.
It gave me hope when all I had was pain.
Its just a shame some of that's been marred by assholes along the way.
But that doesn't change that it is, at its core, a system about fighting systemic oppression and violence.
And that alone kept me alive for years.
No other reason to wake up than to rush to the comic store for a moment of love in a world of pain.
A moment in a digital world where I am not powerless.
That's Sonic.
Then Potto came and made it good again...until Bioware's stupidity ruined everything.
