Would Ohio State fire Ryan Day? A better question to ask: Would Day even want this job?: Ryan Day has had a remarkable run at Ohio State, but the pall of losing to Michigan grows ever darker — and fans ever more impatient.

Day will be gone, one way or another. He should force the $37 million buyout. Colleges need to figure out how important football is. $37 million is a lot of research money.
Who would replace him? He’s an excellent coach. Losing to one college (even a rival) being a fireable offense is ridiculous. And I’m not an Ohio State fan.
Remarkable by what metric? They beat a bunch of bad teams and found a way to choke it away in the biggest games. Gave him 20 million in the portal, spent 5 million on for his OC and DC and he still can’t beat a 6-5 team. The only thing he has done is be slightly better than James Franklin.
Let him go to Syracuse and coach McCord if the spotlight is too bright and the expectations too high. He gets paid good money to beat Michigan, win Big Ten titles and National Championships. He’s done none of the above.
Why would he quit and give up the buyout? Force Ohio St to move on from him while he cashes out. No coach hired in the lazy 4-5 years should consider quitting given these astronomical buyouts.
