Having no centralized “water cooler” location to get NBA highlights, ala 1990’s SportsCenter, is a big reason for league disinterest. NBA coverage is too spread out across multiple platforms.

When the 3 point shot was added to the NBA in the ‘79-‘80 season, teams averaged 2.8 triple attempts per game and averaged 109.3 points. Last season, the averages were 35.1 3 point attempts and 114.2 points per game.
That equates to a lot of bricks. How exciting.

NBA teams perfected the offense and now it's boring to watch. When something is too easy, it's no longer compelling. Literally all 30 NBA teams today average more points per game than the Lebron Heat, KD Thunder, or Steph Warriors of a decade ago. When everyone is equal, nothing matters.

I grew up in the '90s, watching Anthony Mason and Stark fighting tooth and nail for rebounds against the Bulls. Those games mattered: nobody rolled over because it was a regular season game or they just didn't feel it. I'm not saying bring Laimbeer hacks and fouls back, but damn, try harder guys...

Ratings are not down, people have just moved to illegal streams. In order to get every game from your favorite team you have to subscribe to 3 different services and buy channels you don't want. It cost hundreds every month. This is only going to get worse with new TV deal. Greed is killing ratings.

It probably has to do with cost. I can’t even get into a bucks game without spending a minimum of 100 PER TICKET. Excuse me but this is Milwaukee not LA. If you want to sit in the bottom half you are looking at 200 a ticket. The greed is insane.

In my boring opinion, a good part of the decline in viewership is all white and all black uniforms. I was flipping the tv dial and found five BB games on. In all five games, one team wore all white and the other all black. Wear real uniforms. Show your colors. Put on a show.
