I'm honestly pretty optimistic about next season. The Lions got this far in despite leading the league in injuries - particularly on the defensive side of the ball. They're in a good place if that doesn't repeat.

The pressure got to them. That #1 seed’s a heavy weight to bare when history hasn’t been kind. Washington played loose. Rookie QB w/no expectations & a team playing fearless. You could see the doubt in Goff fm the start. Too bad bc Detroit is the better team. Great game tho.

Nah I don't think they really felt the pressure until the 4th quarter. Yes the Commanders played loose, but they executed at such a high level that the Lions didn't have any answers. Sometimes you just get the wrong team at the wrong time. Really wanted the storybook run for the Lions fans tho.

Yeah I agree, Washington just played at another level. I’ve seen them enough to know they can beat you when you think they’re down. Also hoped to see Detroit go all the way. Would’ve been a great story.

I’m a Washington fan but seriously Detroit had a hell if a season. I certainly wouldn’t have been mad if they advanced. But Detroit shouldn’t despair. You have one amazing team you’ve built and maybe next year is your year.

Certainly Goff didn’t have his best day. That halfback option pass was not well executed. The player should have just chucked it OB. Of course the Lions defense finally crumbled under all of those injuries. They have a great nucleus but if they lose both coordinators it’s gonna take a while.

Getting into a shootout with the Commanders wasn’t a very good game plan. Campbell needs to be a better coach in the playoffs, being super-aggressive all the time doesn’t play as well in January.

In the end, we couldn't overcome the defensive injuries. That doesn't change the feeling of this team always, ALWAYS finding a way to leave us feeling dead inside.
