So if you're like me and don't want Apple AI because using it means exposing your data so it can learn, immediately go to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri to turn it off.
(If you have an older device, you might not see this after update because it's not supported.)

I turned off Siri on my devices recently (and Copilot on my home PC) but as my Apple devices likely need updating, I'll keep an eye to make sure nothing gets re-activated that shouldn't be.

My iPhone hasn't gotten the message yet so I'm guessing it's too old for AI, but my Mac and iPad both got it. Sucks that Apple is doing this.

Not sure what concern is? Most Apple AI tasks are handle on device without going outside, data remains in the on-device Secure Enclave. Any outside task handled in Private Secure Cloud, encrypted with no personal data transferred. Once task is complete, data immediately deleted. Apple has no access.

I haven’t had a chance to read up on it so I don’t want to turn it on without knowing the details. Apple has always asked for features like this in the past (like 2FA). And frankly I don’t trust them or the feature yet to turn it on.

Yes, indeed.

What will be the share of people that do not open their system settings and leave it as is? Even with 25% it will be sufficient to train their models. It is the shoving it down our throats that will make me move away from this company.

Exactly. It's infuriating. It concerns me that even if you know to turn it off, data might be sent in the brief time you hit Continue then actually turn it off. You have a good day as well.
