100%. The people unearthing these stories and trying to eradicate the workplace of this horrible misconduct should be appreciated. Are there public instances of bristling at efforts to unearth these stories or at the journalists and advocates doing the unearthing?

There’s no doubt such behavior is abhorrent and shouldn’t be tolerated but is it a systemic problem or just a small number of horrid judges? There have always been awful judges to clerk for, and no doubt clerks should have a recourse but I don’t see this article as indicating some broad issue.

Part of the problem is that like abusive partners (some unexpected resonance in that phrase) abusive judges are often euphemized as "demanding" and "having high standards"

We have had some success over the last decade and a half knocking this kind of abuse out of Biglaw—there are a lot fewer phone throwers than there used to be. Not sure if that’s just natural attrition as they die off
