My only thing with this is that the lnp & rwm will go to town on this. They will hammer home that our national security is compromised etc etc…

We are not going to get the secondhand US subs as their replacement build schedule is running way behind and apparently the Attack class sub program (the AUKAS subs) is also troubled.

Yes the LNP would go crazy but so many Australians do not agree with Trump and recognise the submarine deal is wrong it will probably inspire swinging voters to vote Labor.

The “quiet” ones are the ones i fear… do not underestimate Trumps support here, its crazy. And the media ARE a major factor- you will even have the ABC attacking this & saying “we are not safe” THAT is the rhetoric that will overshadow everything else. Don’t underestimate it

Given we had flipped to nuclear powered subs the French one off the shelf without our 'specifications' might even be cheaper than the original quote.
