Funny how language works: “Cock” often signals proximity to whiteness, while “dick” feels rooted in Black culture. There’s a whole sociopolitical layer to who says what—and why. I actually deleted my draft on this topic yesterday b/c I didn’t want to deal with the expected replies from “that” tribe.
Yeah. It also just reminds me of a lot of racial eroticism, terms like “BBC” are dehumanizing and find their home within whiteness. It is a descriptive for the beast or an indication for the fetish, which then makes me immediately cringe at the word “cock”.
Before “BBC,” there was “Mandingo”—both tied to the fetishization & dehumanization of Black men. These terms reduced Black bodies to tools & are entrenched in racist histories. While some men may consent to be used as such tools (i.e. race play, etc.), that doesn’t negate the legacy of exploitation.
