Forever grateful to the Canadian soldiers that liberated my parents, who were just children during the Nazi occupation, now in their 90s. They taught us to respect our soldiers. They will be remembered by this first generation Canadian.

My parents are both born in The Netherlands in 1939. Their first few years of life were filled with fear and poverty. They never forgot the joy of Liberation Day. My front garden is filled with tulips in remembrance. 🇨🇦🇳🇱🌷

My Dad returned to Apeldoorn with his remaining members of 410 Sqd, many times. Their host family returned to Canada as my parents guests. The Netherlands will Never Forget. We need to educate that respect in Canada.
