When psychologists publish academic research, they are putting their methodology and results on public display - w the expectation that they are reproducable.
We spent more time learning how to be good researchers that we did learning about constructs (which are essential to good research)
Have you ever heard of Wilhem Wundt? And also, (for the OP) while there is a lot to say about the methodology of psychology research, especially when it comes to constructs, anecdote is still not evidence.
Of course. He was the father of experimental research. Cool stuff well before 70 years ago. (Pavlov). But rigor in broad discipline was inconsistent. Also a bunch of weird stuff.
70 years because post-WWII academic research became more scientific. And am most interested in my discipline.
