I do speak Spanish and it is something we are considering. Though there are places in Mexico where there are communities of those who speak English.

Oh sorry I just saw this. Lake Chapala has so many American retirees. But, also cities like Puerto Vallarta, Cabo & San Miquel de Allende, Merida & even CDMX. There are well over 1.2 million American expats in Mexico.
