For a more detailed discussion of Irish manuscript culture, you could also begin with his book The Irish Hand: Scribes and Their Manuscripts from the Earliest Times (Cork)
The late Raymond Gillespie's article, “Scribes and manuscripts in Gaelic Ireland, 1400-1700”, Studia Hibernica 40 (2014): 9–34, is also a good starting point to Irish manuscript culture. Send me a DM if you want more info and glad to help out.
