The number of times I have seen people like this go "OH MY GOD THIS WORK IS UNNACCEPTIBLE BECAUSE IT ENCOURAGES AND GLORIFIES _" when literally anyone with media literacy including published academic analysis of the text is like "Actually it does the exact opposite of that"

Same here; I read some of his work, not a ton but I was also mature enough at age 12/13 to be able to put the books down when I was like "eh, I'm uncomfortable" and simply stopped. I'm still fine lmao

I had troubles reading when younger, dyslexia is a pain, My mom's friend and my aunt bought me some books. I got drawn in to John Saul, and Kootz but it was King that I devoured. So next birthday there was this pile of books by them for me. Like 15 horror novels. I need to want to read the books LOL
