Wow, this stopped me dead in my tracks during the usual zoned out morning scroll.
This is wicked cool. The general robot construction is already so on point and great but THAT FACE!! It's done just right, the shapes flow with the style well. The bow tying it together is definitely those colours!!
Very nice, makes myself think on what Pixel art I would have made if years younger. Great job on what could have been decades earlier xD. I noticed that your other animation style does reminds me of Flashback or Another/out of this World.
Yes! Same principles are applied, flat polygons animated using a semi skeletal animation. Instead of keyframes I use movement functions because they can be A) smoother B) no need for interpolation C) space conservation. I've been meaning to use that technique in a larger demo soon.
Hmm, seeing you're comic book artist, pixel artist, retro person, etc. Realized I need to allow you know there was world's very first digital art comic made in mid 80's. Shatter by Peter B. Gillis and Mike Saenz, under First Comics. I know it was difficult to make due to hardware memory limitations.
