The geothermal vents are freaking wild too. I'll give you even odds one of the ice moons of the gas giants have life similar to this and the vents.
Studying that life would be so awesome. When I'm dying and they can download brains put me in some sort of underwater probe and let me explore a moon.

They're teaching this stuff in UK secondary schools now (GCSE, age 15-16); extremophiles and chemosynthesis. I think the text books have trouble keeping up.
