Believing one is fit to not just represent but make decisions that will affect millions of people is an inherently narcissistic opinion. It's rare for someone to have that wrong with them without a lot of other deep flaws.

I'm going to disagree here and this is not helpful. There are good and bad people in electoral politics just like anywhere else. I know a lot of good people who got into electoral politics for the right reasons, as a progression of their ideals & community activism.
