Not necessarily enterprise software, though some of our UV spectroscopy terminals still run Windows XP because of proprietary hardware interfaces, but the issue with us is that some of the analysis we have to do requires formulas in cells that just aren't avaliable.
Makes sense! I get that it's not financially feasible to upgrade spectroscopy equipment as often as PCs but it's kinda silly that this is the result in lots of industries lol

But especially in STEM fields, we're very much tied to Office because of the plug-ins Excel uses.
The cables, interface cards, and drivers are all proprietary.
But on the plus side, they're all standalone systems with no network capabilities.
