I had to be active when listening, like doing chores or walking. Also, the first time I successfully read an audiobook was with a book I had already read, so it got me used to it without having to worry about missing stuff if I did zone out for a minute.

I still struggle with audiobooks. I find that I doze off shortly after pushing play, but perhaps I should stop listening right before bed and figure out a better time!

I have to be active while listening to audiobooks. I've been doing while walking or making dinner. The minute I sit down, my minds starts to wander. Which has allowed me to read books at times when another form of book wouldn't work.

I also find being active with yard work or household chores helps me stay focused on the story. So does driving or walking.

Good idea! My other issue is that I have to really love the narrator's voice or it is a dealbreaker.

A good narrator is key! Many audiobooks will have a small sample you can listen to before buying, which helps.
