Apparently, he told people before his death that he regretted being closely tied to Neil. Wouldn’t surprise me at all. A lot of Neil’s peers knew full well that he was sus long before the public did.
If you haven't read this, it's informative when you clear out the chaff. FTR I think the observation that Gaiman benefitted greatly from association with Pratchett implying he would be on his best behaviour rings true.
