This is why Jay’s HOF articles are so valuable. His argument is incisive and highly detailed. Whether or not you agree with Martin’s case (FTR I don’t) he presents a strong case and at the very least encourages one to consider it further.
I don't support FanGraphs adding the pitch framing stats. Because we will never know how good previous catchers were or weren't at this, we will never have a good average for what a catcher's numbers should look like.
We should remove all pre-Integration players from the Hall then, no way to know how good they actually were since they only got to play deliberately watered down competition

That might explain the difference. Also the main disagreement between the two is Bref uses old defensive metrics and using FIP or RA/9 for pitchers.
