Denmark did the coalition government across the middle before it was cool, and we didn’t even have a credible threat from the far-right that made us do it. We just recognized that cooperation and compromise were the way forward, long before it became the "in" thing for everyone else.

You’re absolutely right about the harmful effects of these policies, but we can’t ignore the impact of the war either.
The real question is how we balance the immediate need to support defense and aid while still protecting the vulnerable in our society. A war tax could be an alternative though..
