I used to love supernatural fed-cop vs conspiracies things like the X-Files and Delta Green, but after 9/11 and the war on terror, it just felt lame in comparison to the real life “conspiracies” that actually came to light.

A conspiracy over “aliens” or “magic”? No, the NSA just wiretaps citizens.

That being said, most of RAWilson’s Illuminatus trilogy still holds up even if there is a billionaire submarine guy who is a rich libertarian asshole. (Though he skews Anarchist, not Fascist)

I think I just like surrealist/psychedelic sci-fi.
