A lot of people with autism don't "suffer" from it. We suffer from the people around us treating us like a different species or a problem to be solved. RFK is one of the purest embodiments of that unnecessary suffering that I've ever had the misfortune of witnessing. Just pure contempt for us.

As hard as it might be to believe, discovering my autism was one of the most joyous things that I've experienced in years. It cast my whole life in a new light, one that made me feel real in a completely new way. There is so much joy within us, and that joy must become a deafeningly loud assertion.

Personally, I'm not particularly interested in being cured. I'm interested in the safety of the ADA, the integrity of the science that helps understand our needs, and how we fit into the world. RFK, along with the rest of the Trump administration, will send that all into a backslide.
