I can say with a good degree of confidence this website REALLY rewards using hashtags (and generally multiple ones) which is so counter to how Twitter worked where the ideal was either no text or limited text and if you used hashtags it killed engagement entirely.
Something else that I've noticed is the alt text. Alt text does help pictures get discovered, not just on the disability advocating side of things but because it does also search the alt text for terms when putting into feeds.
Then tag it with more!!! Oc, art (art discovery feeds are HUGE), ocart, the game the oc is made for, even just make a little hashtag for your blorbos!! That makes them searchable for yourself later if nothing else! Reposting really helps get eyes on the chronological timelines and is expected here!
I feel like utilizing tags and feeds help out a bunch, it may give just a little bit more of a boost for you? But I hope you can find more success soon ❤️❤️❤️
Also I believe alt text is another boon for engagement? Like it actually factors into searches and such. I know it's probably tiring to try and do more and more just to get more eyes on things, but hopefully small steps at a time will get you somewhere ❤️
tags, feeds, regular self repost since theres no algo so gotta put in a bit more extra work than xitter - though numbers might seem low, the follower count to engagement ratio is still overall better than over there is what I noticed though, and its still growing so hoping it gets even better 🙏

Its definitely rough, but hopefully you build up a more dedicated following since its not so algo based anymore. i think thats what people seem to be really praising.
I also feel this way, but I was reminded that hashtags actually boost engagement here rather than take it away - so utilizing that + buzz words to hit certain feeds seems to be key
