A decade ago, I had a professor who taught North American security politics, who said that US hegemony was on the decline and the BRICS were on the rise, with China set to be leader of the pack. He couldn't give an exact timeline but said within the next 10-20 years (he predicted this 10 years ago).

Countries are already planning a future without relying on America. This was inevitable. The United States is too unpredictable in an already unpredictable world. Countries will move in the direction of China. Particularly as China will be the biggest global economy in next 10 years.
