engineering studies - the journal and the field - have some expertise & some responsibilities w.r.t. the current situation in the US & worldwide. our field has shown over and over that a more diverse, equitable, inclusive & accessible engineering community yields better engineering in *many* ways.

in particular, while we have some understanding of SV tech broligarchy as a social movement w/in engineering, no one entirely understands Muskism as an ideology that - superficially - derives legitimacy from engineering. this would be a good starting point, tho:

My own field, management, has a long relationship with engineering, from Babbage to operational research, with Taylor, Ford and Stafford Beer and countless others trying to apply engineering to work. Thank you for this enlightening issue.

I will put it to good use in my own teaching.
