I'm not sure. There's already a glut of STEM PhDs with not enough jobs for everyone, either in private industry or (especially) in academia. It is a million times worse now with the govt firings. I grad w/PhD in a few months. If I could turn back time, I would stick with BS or MS. More jobs.
