Tonight, ABC World News with David Muir played a clip of RFK Jr saying “We have measles outbreaks every year” with zero correction. They just broadcasted his lie with no added context or fact check. It’s journalistic malpractice.

We do have measles outbreaks every year. They aren’t of this size, scale, or frequency because there is an increase in the number of unvaccinated people. We no longer have heard immunity in many areas.

I’m not seeing a lot on outbreaks in other areas or that the case count is more like “households” because they don’t bother testing when the rest of the unvaccinated family and close contacts get sick.

Too many won’t vaccinate. Some are. I think it’s kind of how they dealt with closed religious communities. They might not be permitted. Like JWs & blood transfusions.

I did read there’s an uptick in vaccinations, so some are getting it. The kid rushed to ER is the only one seen among how many sick?

Actually, the only major religious group that forbids vaccination is Church of Christ, Scientist.

Other groups that use religious exemption are using their own interpretation of their creed.

Good journalism means push-back in the moment. It’s hard. I should know, I did it as a student journalist. If I was capable of it as a college student, they’re capable of it now. They’re just choosing not to.
