"vote blue no matter who" is so fucking damaging and it's the reason there's so many spineless losers doing nothing right now. you can't refuse to hold any democrat to a moral standard as a means of keeping republicans out of power, when they let republicans do whatever they want with a minority

I am actually glad that a chunk of America firmly rejected Harris, she was promising a vote for her was a vote for Republicans to have a say in her presidency.

And that'd just lead to the red tory mess we have here in the UK but without the escape hatch of a n other party to vote for.

I don't know about the UK but here in Canada I see it as a reactionary movement. Liberals stoke the fire of fear in regressive conservatives in their voting base so that they can win and make their money. Very little progress happens but the voter feels like they beat the devil for today. Boogymen.

To me it has always felt like the process that they remake the neoliberal status quo - ie voting is the last and only political act you make and defer all further autonomy to your betters. As opposed to voting being a minor part of the self engaging politically in the world.

Given it seems to revolve around a two party system, largely ignores FPTP and the oddities of our (alleged) Parliamentary democracy.
