Im seeing way too many people scraping ice off their windshield. Here's what you do instead.
Get a spray bottle and fill it with 2/3 warm (not hot!) water and 1/3 rubbing alcohol. Spray it on your windshield, then run your wipers. The warm water melts the ice and the alcohol keeps it from refreezing

Or are you suggesting it just for once/twice a year Portland ice storms, not general winter conditions like in the rest of the country.
