I’m in Seattle and recently saw someone’s multiple pairs of jeans on the carousel at the dry cleaners. In 40 years of patronizing dry cleaners I’d never seen that before.
Guess the client never got that dirty! Or maybe the pants were just starched and pressed there after being washed. There are stretchers that are used after washing them to help form the crease once starched. And then they are pressed.
No fan of the shitheads in the White House but this is the truth. Skiing in jeans was something you did back then to show you could ski. The ones who couldn’t were all dressed up in their ski pants and fancy jackets.
I do have a vague memory of waterproofing our blue jeans to go skiing back then, and I was an advanced skier.
But I also remember them being ridiculously uncomfortable!
To be fair, dry cleaners also offer laundry services. Getting mens' dress shirts laundered and pressed is big. Someone traveling may have thrown their jeans in to be laundered as well.
Oh, I realize. Getting my dress shirts laundered is most of what I’ve been doing at dry cleaners for those 40 years. Just never seen jeans on the conveyor before.

But skiing in jeans is mocked heavily 😂
By the end of the day he looked like a snowman. Will never forget.
