More of this. Resigning in protest has little significance anymore. Say no, throw a fit, make waves. Politicize the public in favor of the civil service. We are in danger without it.

I’ve never understood the concept of resigning in protest. By modern rules, that’s just getting out of the way to make room for someone else to commit the depredation. Nobody will care about an antiquated sense of honor.
I guess it's like "I would have to do these things in order to continue with my job, and I refuse to do them, so I resign." which, yes, just makes room for someone else. but so does them firing you when you won't obey their orders.
The one reason I could see is maybe they just can’t work in that environment. Personally and ethically. The very thought makes them sick. That would be me.
Yeah, in today’s world, resigning in protest often just clears the path for someone with fewer scruples to take over. Unless it’s paired with a very public, effective stand that forces real consequences, it rarely changes anything. Power doesn’t step aside for honor it fills the vacancy.
Have you ever been the target of a bloodthirsty criminal Trump Admin who are not only threatening your life by making you a target - but have no issue firing you and ruining your chances for another good job?
Didn’t think so.
This must be the answer when these things happen...when President Musk and his cronies were illegally accessing our data...the servers should have been burned down.
I'm maintaining a 🧵 of senior civil servants at each agency who've publicly + very prominently said "absolutely not" to flagrantly illegal orders, despite whatever they were (illegally) threatened with
I would gently suggest that making lists of people resisting a takeover, while indeed a badly-needed morale boost to the rest of us, might make those listed more vulnerable or easier to target.
These portraits are of very senior Civil Servants, highly respected leaders within each agency. We learned about how they've already been targeted from widely-reported stories in the press
It would be a disservice to the bravery of their actions to pretend each was an isolated incident
This is what Patriotism looks like! Standing against a MEGALITH of power including the US Media @nytimes.com.web.brid.gy @cnn.com @washingtonpost.com @cbsnewsconfirmed.bsky.social et al. Thankfully we have people unwilling to bow to these petty fucking tyrants!
I hope part of their resistance are the classic techniques like: send the email but forget the attachment or share the cloud folder but forget to give the right permissions, leave off column headers, save it as a flattened PDF but without proper formatting so columns break across pages...
then be like "my bad" and save it in the original format but that's actually a Word 97 table with 20 pt borders and extra cells to create spaces between each data point, then ask for a meeting to discuss landscape or portrait page layout preferences.
Someone in the Democratic party machinery needs to be ready to find the Drizz a place to land when he does get forced out. You can't buy integrity but you can reward it.
At this point, every threatened agent should refuse to quit, make them bring termination proceedings, and challenge them in court. We need donors to fund this, and attorneys to staff it.
The alternative is the end of the FBI and DOJ as we know them.
This is the kind of action we need from pro-democratic people in power--actions demonstrating a willingness to endure personal sacrifice to stand against this abuse of power. It's horrible that this is where we are, but it's where we are
You have to admire someone who is willing to stand up for the rule of law in what appears to be a lawless administration. More integrity than most of the Republicans in Congress
Hitler and the Nazis outmaneuvered Germany's conservative politicians to consolidate a radical Nazi dictatorship completely subordinate to Hitler's personal will.
This nation will only survive by a percentage of how many will have courage. The more who do, the more of the nation can be restored when the Nazis are removed.

No honor in more efficiently executing the order you’re supposedly protesting.
Fuck you, make me.
