PLEASE, PLEASE can we make sure we verify info before making claims that someone is an abuser

My whole week was fucked up because of a PTSD episode triggered by someone telling me that someone I know is abusive and it turned out to not be true.

I don't say that lightly. Initially I took the claims at pretty much face value, but one of the 'victims' has said it isn't true and is deeply uncomfortable that people are spreading misinformation about her.

I have spent a year and a half trying to recover from intense trauma caused by someone I trusted. I categorically do not need people making claims that they are misinformed about.

Every victim of abuse deserves to be heard, to be believed, and to tell their story in any way they chose.

The whisper network is important, but it's also a huge responsibility and has a massive risk of harm. I had a real shitty PTSD episode because of this and it fucking sucks.
