Exporting directly from Scotland, via Prestwick or other hubs would boost Scotland's economy and jobs.
However, UK trade policies and logistics centralisation mean many exports go through larger UK hubs.
Greater Scottish control over trade routes would maximise benefits for Scotland.

Exporting Scottish goods from Scotland makes economic sense, and is vital for future growth/jobs. But with Reeves admitting that 2 of the UK's biggest exports are Scotch whisky and Scottish salmon, why don’t we export our produce from Scotland? Through Prestwick airport. For Scotland's benefit.

The bigger scandal is that the vast majority is loaded onto boats in Greenock for transit to deep water ports in England and export from there
Why doesn't Scotland have a deep water port for these exports?
