It has such a long history of cruelty. One might think it was invented for that purpose. Maybe cruel people are attracted to it, because everything can be justified somewhere in the bible depending on who is reading it.
B/c they're not Christian. They use Christ to justify their own actions. They think judgement is their's. They only have contempt for their neighbours. They love themselves, power & wealth, not God. For them, Jesus is a superhero, not crucified between 2 thieves: for them, humility is a weakness.
Nothing complicated about that! It is as simple as the nose on our faces! They are not Christian in the first place. True Christians have a good heart. 🧐🥰
I once studied with a living mystic. He said as a karmic group , the evangelicals are “ attracted to Jesus”, but they still have to learn the lessons. Some do..climbing the ladder to God”
David French doesn't actually explain Christian cruelty, which comes almost exclusively from conservatives. As a conservative, French refuses to cast the light too close to his own ideological home. As a conservative NYT columnist he serves as a (unwitting?) beard for the radicals/Trumpists.
Someone else here said it. They always point to “Jesus Forgives” as their excuse for any behavior that’s criticized. “Forgive and forget” is their motto for themselves, even though it isn’t in the Bible. They never forgive or forget anything “woke.”
Their affinity for cruelty immediately identifies them as developmentally primitive, unwilling & incapable of cooperation, which is the gold standard of human societal maturity.
