That's the mind boggling thing about this effort, DEI isn't "woke", it's the law! They can try to ban these programs or blackmail organizations into dropping these programs but you still can't discriminate based on race, gender, sexual identity, age, religion, etc.

DEI and special education aren’t even close to being the same so your statement is false. DEI is a broad societal initiative while IDEA is a legal requirement specific to students with disabilities.
Same principles of DEI absolutely formed our laws. How institutions *implement law are initiatives. DEI initiatives teach teachers about how to make classes more inclusive. Those trainings are crucial. Laws are purposefully written broadly.
You legally can have accommodations not modifications in work. For instance, you can have a bigger screen for eye sight issues, but you don’t get less work because you have a disability. Mentally you must be able to do the job. Accommodations are Equality and Inclusion and protected under ADA law.
In work and higher education settings equity (different standards don’t exist). However, in education all children need a curriculum designed at their level.

If you aren’t aware: kids are pulled out of class for special help (RTI) and if they need massive help they are in special education programs (IEP). Free and appropriate education is protected under law.
