Oh, Let me introduce you to Japanese kei cars. Have been electric for a long time. They are small and can do most of the stuff massive American child killer trucks can do for the fraction of the cost.
Thanks to oil companies writing our laws they’re illegal to drive inmost places here, due to “safety” (as if the fucking houses on wheels they call trucks here aren’t mobile safety issues).
I recently learned about the Peel P50 and if you haven't yet, let me tell you I was delighted for hours at its very existence.
It seats one! It's street legal! It (was) mass produced! And, on one hand, it gets 108mpg, but on the other hand the tank is less that two gallons, so.
If you really want to spend more than 200 miles in one of these in a single journey, I'm sure you could fit an extended range tank. Or you could just carry a jerry can with you, but that extra weight's gonna cost you on the performance... 😂
It's legally a motorcycle and has no reverse gear, you would pick it up like a wheelbarrow and roll it to where you needed it.
It was designed and made specifically for the Isle of Man.
Duty bound and obligated to mention that someone has bought the brand and is doing small batch manufacturing of them again including (I am not joking) a convertible and (I am still not joking) a DIY build at home kit
I’m reaching out to ask for your support with my GoFundMe campaign. Every donation, no matter the size, can make a big difference and help us reach our goal. Ah but the key to toriyama cars are that a solid 50% of them are just toriyama styled random european cars. He had no care for copyright he was just giving Bulma a Renault 5 Turbo.
The tech in Dragonball was part of what drew me to it as a kid. All of the Capsule Corp stuff and sort of weird retro futuristic stuff was so cool. Still one of my favorite aspects of the series.
Let me present: The Bongo Friendee - the happiest (and remarkably futuristic for 1995) car I’ve ever owned. The instructions were all in Japanese and had manga style illustrations.
not sure if rhetorical, but they're small and efficient so they use less gas, and I know in the states there's been push to deem them "unsafe" for their size rather than regulate the size of large trucks that have been proven to not be able to see kids and short people cause money talks.
For real. Always loved Toriyama’s vehicle design. The only Bandai DB models I own are a series they did of the weird vehicles he did for some cover art.
This is what I’ve been fucking saying, I do not WANT a trash can, I wanna be in a small, Lupin III esk car where I can run from police and military in a small silly future mobile

it's a shame car development went in the opposite direction. would love to see a future where the largest car on the road is a daihatsu hijet.
Musk spends 5 minutes on an Autocad model before giving up because it wont tell him he's cool.
The vehicle pictured in the OP looks to be a take on a Suzuki Samurai, which is era appropriate tbh.
I bet they cost a fortune ;u;
and also the cuteness
