Seattle has added millions of square feet of building area, added 20%+ in population, 20%+ in added jobs, is electrifying our buildings, adding EVs, and because of density, efficiency, and smart design we have flatlined our electricity demand

This presentation has all the graphics I posted recently on with SCL demand, SDOTs streets data and the lofty goals by SDOT in the next 5-20 years we clearly are not on track for
Fascinating!! I am genuinely curious how hahaha like the per capita kWh usage for apt is very low (I haven’t used my electric heater in 5 years) but even then, we do consume SOME electricity 😅
The energy code and direction towards more efficient buildings has actually worked and left SCL completely stumped and a little panicking because they have doubled customers but aren’t selling more power
