Usually when prices drop that low on the PS store it's not long before it ends up on PS+, so I'll probably wait a while. Not my style of game but I have heard good things so willing to give it a try for "free".
Absolute gem of a game. I don't even care for Marvel but this game charmed me for 100 hours. I kept delaying the final mission because I didn't want the campaign to end.
It's not as difficult as it seems. Took me a little while to get the hang of it but it felt pretty natural as time went on. I'm not the biggest fan of the game but the actual combat is very polished and enjoyable.
I just feel like cards on top of the turn-based XCOM system is a lot. But a lot of people I trust (Matt included) have praised it. Plus I’m a huge Marvel nerd and it’s not like there are a lot of video games that have Nico Minoru in them!
The card system synergizes with the XCOM core a lot better than you might think. It’s really just a matter of semi-randomizing your available attacks so you have to stay on your toes
I was super unenthused when I first heard about it, but got the game because I'm a sucker for Firaxis & ended up really liking it. If I have one small grumble, it's that the # of base game characters was just about right & adding 4 more DLC characters made it a bit grindy to fill all the decks out.
Only thing I disliked about the game was some of the dialog was just *interminable*. Some of it was neat and compelling but some of it was like "oh now what Robbie"
This ended up being one of my favorite Marvel games of all time. Such depth into each character, and the interactions/voices seem genuinely human. Each hero has their own personality/personas that build on what lore I know (isnt much save for Spidey and DP lol). I honestly loved this game so much 🤟🏻🕸️
People thinking it’s a card game are part of the reason it didn’t do well. Cards represent your abilities, you basically equip them as your abilities for the mission, but it’s basically X-Com with Bioware style conversations at the home base between missions

On the studio side for this one, well, I'm sure the folks that worked on it would love more people to enjoy it.
lmao
Dope story though if you choose to suffer thru it like I did lol
