Chris Deerin in the New Statesman declares "I know of almost no one in the (Labour) party who thinks the baby box is anything other than a piece of expensive Sturgeonesque positioning" Wonder if he asked any new mums?

Those who criticise the baby box misunderstand the whole concept. It is accessed through midwifes thereby engaging mums from the start, and without stigma, in the wellbeing of their child. If people don’t want it they do not have to apply to get it. It is indicative of a caring society.
Seems to be taking up the Johnson mantra. A pound spent in Croydon is far better than a pound spent in Strathclyde.
I could also say with a heavy heart, that the current labour government has the same mantra.

Expensive sturgeonesque positioning sounds like much more fun
If not needed they don’t have to take them😳
