I do think that Labour deserves credit for reducing waiting lists to a five year low in under a year.

Still a long way to go to get it back to 2010 levels…and, no doubt, that is what people feel when they still hear long wait times.

If there’s anything we’ve learnt from Trump and Brexit vote, it should be that we shouldn’t underestimate the attraction of populist rhetoric. But that doesn’t mean we mimic that hate-and-divide narrative. That means we ask: why is it so attractive to ordinary voters? Why are voters so discontent?
