Tbh I'd really like to get one of them eventually! The only reason I didn't was because I got PLA on launch and the release dates were so close together. My friend has SP and is having a blast doing a nuzlocke in it

One of my issues with bdsp presentation wise is that every remake beforehand used the visual/gameplay style of its (at the time) current generation.
Firered/Leafgreen: gen3
Heartgold/Soulsilver: gen4
OrAs: gen6
Thus it was safe to assume bdsp would follow this trend and be like SnS

yeah, i'm not really sure what my expectations for the remake were other than hoping they'd add a few of the newer mechanics like mega evolution in or adding new character interactions. i regret buying brilliant diamond because it became immediately apparent as a soulless cash grab

The main problem with BDSP is that they are just technically worse versions of DP.

For example, the port to a 3d engine was done poorly and the player just gets stuck on walls all the time and all of the ice puzzles are just broken.

Oh yeah I heard about people using exploits to get Shaymin (iirc) and then other not fun things like what you mentioned. And I heard the fog effects really slow the game down among other things 💀 it’s such a shame

FOR REALLLL i think if they remade platinum with 0 changes there’d be a Little bit of a fallout bc it’d be compared to FRLG/HGSS/ORAS but at least platinum is a way better experience out of box. unfortunately the sad truth is that Diamond And Pearl are just. not very good

Yeah pretty much. I greatly enjoyed those remakes with SS still being my top favourite remake of all of them. I think this is definitely the biggest examples of a third game being the definitive, superior version lol

Like, okay, I never played Platinum but I *did* play through Diamond all the way through and most of the complaints I've seen about BDSP in terms of content is the stuff that was only in Platinum and I'm just...they don't sound like 'bad remakes' if the primary 'good' part is Platinum-exclusive

BW never had a "third" game for them so there's no additional content, they got sequels which is like...fine. I never played BW2. But even the "Delta" episode for ORAS wasn't Emerald content JLKG;AJKTL

Oh you def should! I think they clear the originals almost entirely, the sheer amount of things to do is mind boggling its awesome. It also has really fantastic national dex spread you can get lots of cool pokemon very early.

Yeah it's awesome, johnstone has a video of getting all medals I recommend. Its exactly like achievements! They added the Pokemon World Tournament too which is like...every major character from the past games in a big bracket tournament with new remixes

I think the issue with bdsp for a lot of people is oras was a perfect combo of the current gen with the old games. bdsp didn't get that, they got a 1:1 remake that had barely any graphical update. might as well buy the og games

Purely in my opinion, I'd want a BW3 honestly
BW2 was a fun spin on the formula from a storytelling perspective, the issue then becomes what to do with said story, how to follow it up, but I believe if coupled with the BDSP remake artstyle (and polish) it could be great

Ohhhh yeah because BW2 is basically the follow-up to Ghetsis being disgraced and working with Colress iirc? And the remnants of Team Plasma? All I know is that he uses Kyurem to ice age a city which is actually crazy. Yeah idk how you'd even follow up on that story
