Excellent piece that posits two different paths for the U.S. in the next 10-15 years. I agree more with the second thesis: that the U.S. will become like Europe. Free travel throughout, but self-sorting into states/regions based on democratic (liberal) or autocratic (MAGA/GOP) values.
