My Grandpa was drafted in WWII. He was a farmer, he didn't want to fight nazis but he did it. Leaving my Grandma to take care of the farm. My dad served in the Navy in WW2. I'm glad he's no longer around to see this shameful mess. I think seeing trump elected would have disgusted him but seeing musk throw out a Nazi salute in front of the flag would have made him lose his shit.

My grandpa had shrapnel in his ear from Korea. My mom always told me it made her life hell when he came back, but he was one of the most inspirational, proudest men I've known. One person's nightmare is another's dream

R.I.P. Grandpa, even though he didn't speak about his military record I was able to look up his history and he was involved in a battle of note and he was a hero. Sucks it was all so traumatic though, we have had generations of military veterans traumatized and overlooked.

Thank you, in spite of health issues he developed during the war he lived a pretty long life. He was such a wonderful person. Once when I was at their farm in middle school an EF 4 tornado hit when he was out in the field on his tractor he jumped off it went to a ditch and survived, the 🚜 tipped!

My dad was same. He wasn’t drafted until 1944, because he was already late 20’s with a family. He never said much about his time in Pacific. I found out at his services there was a captains log available online from the destroyer he served on…
