Here's my "crystal ball": Elon Musk's tweets in 2020. The Covid denial tweets were bad enough and obviously came from his desire to force his employees to continue working during a shutdown. They had huge outbreaks at SpaceX in Hawthorne which probably drove other outbreaks in Southern California.

My "crystal ball" is that I pay attention to what people say and I take someone using fascist rhetoric seriously even if they tell bad dad jokes. I also pay attention when a billionaire CEO is posting at 4:00 a.m. while he's obviously high (that was earlier).

I'm an ironclad cynic, but the people who bought Teslas as an environmental mission were far outnumbered by those who bought them because they want their neighbors to envy them and think they're somebody. Selling your Tesla only hurts the resale market and does nothing to impact Tesla or Elon.

All the people happily asking you to lose several thousands should put their own money down and spend several thousands buying a car from a Tesla competitor first.

That would actually make a difference.
