I have fond memories of Ocean Beach. I grew up on Vicente, about 2 blocks from the beach. I see the video and immediately take a deep breath and relax. Thank you for sharing!
I have not lived in San Francisco for 23 years now but that beach will always always be one of my favorite places in the world and I love low tide there too.
Ahhh this is Ocean Beach in SF (guess there's a lot of such a creative name for a beach) but Hodad's looks delish and it's probably much warmer there! We have Papa Mak's here if you're ever up north
Aaah San Francisco. A place that used to mean something. I lived there for a bit. Sitting down to a $36 eggs Benedict brunch while watching hungry homeless people dig through the trashcan outside while everyone inside just ignored it made me leave and never look back.
Gasoline is very expensive, and a lot of Hawaii other than Oahu is pretty rural and hard without your own car. Food varies, for example, amazing fruit is really cheap, but some bulky food items shipped from the mainland are super expensive. Jobs that pay well can also be very limited.
I think mostly Sanderlings in this view, which to my novice knowledge are slightly smaller relatives of sandpipers. There were also lots of Snowy Plovers out today but they're usually a little further from the edge of the waves and many were huddled on the dry beach.
And some Sanderlings I think too which I really tend to see do the scurry by the waves. Especially on the dry sand there were tons of Snowy Plovers huddling and all puffed up tonight!
I've realized there are many 'Ocean Beach' locations, this one is San Francisco but much of the west coast of the contiguous US will have sunset and low-ish tide alignment this weekend
I've now realized that but gotten some good restaurant recommendations for some of the others as a happy side effect - the video and the screenshot are the San Francisco one
Having lived and worked in San Francisco for forty-five years, I always loved Ocean Beach in the winter. The City was one of the great loves of my life, but the changes made life there untenable. I bailed five years ago and found a new love, Oaxaca de Juarez, Mexico. My life is so much better now

The person that graduates last in medical school is still called a doctor...
This is true no matter what medical school that you attend. Someone is always first and someone is always last.
Is it worth the costs to experience the sunsets???
We have enough Delta points for two round trip tickets, first class.
We have been out there 3 times before and love it
