Splitting the party formally creates a legal mess too. Because ballot access is guaranteed for whoever wins the Dem primary, but that's not a given for a new party.

So it's make sure the right people when the Dem primaries.

Trying to create a new party to run solid candidates and get ballot access in hundreds of high-profile races (House, Senate, Gov, etc) - and having a lot of split GOP-Dem-NewParty races - is a recipe for disaster. Especially if you don't want to use existing elected officials.

If it relies on half or more of your candidates being existing Democratic Party elected officials (and a lot of House/Senate candidates would be State House/Senate members)...then just take over the Democratic Party instead.

A name change (which is what a "new party" would be, we don't have actual parties) wouldn't affect the fact that Senators are voting to fuck over their House colleagues. They would just do the same thing under a different banner. The Senators fucking over their colleagues need to actually be removed
